New Adventures at Pho Pasteur

Before we took in the Argos game, Darcy and I went to our favourite pho place: Pho Pasteur. Darcy had his usual favourite pho with lean rare beef, but I felt like trying something completely new so I had 'Vietnamese sausage with flour rolls'. I was all set to have something potentially heavy and greasy, but it turned out to be incredibly virtuous. The 'sausage' was a kind of lean Vietnamese bologna called 'cha lua' and the 'flour rolls' were steamed rice paper wrappers rolled into tubes. Alongside was bean sprouts, pickled carrots, mint, lettuce, chopped peanuts, and a vinegary dipping sauce. It was a fresh, greaseless, and delicious meal.
